Jim was born and raised in South Africa, Pietermaritzburg, KZN. He moved with his family back to their family farm in Hyde Park, NY. He graduated from FDR High School and is also an Eagle Scout, who is still heavily involved in the Scouting organization. He is currently finishing up his BFA in Photography at Savannah College of Art and Design with concentrations in documentary and commercial photography with minors in film and television, and fashion photography. He has been a volunteer firefighter for 15 years to this day. In his spare time, he likes to photograph wildlife and landscape.
